Ambassadors

Are you or someone you know having difficulty accessing local businesses and facilities? Whether meeting a friend for coffee, going to the bank or doing your shopping. A trip to a local business is a regular event for most people. Unfortunately, all too often there are barriers to access that challenge the ability of older people with access difficulties and people with disability to participate in such activities. Inaccessibility also presents major problems for parents with prams and other people with temporary mobility difficulties.

By being access aware, you can help contribute in the development of the directory.

Are you interested in becoming an Access Aware Ambassador?

This role is a voluntary position. The person must have an understanding or interest in the issues faced by people with access difficulties going about their daily life. You will need access to an internet connection and the ability to use it, and be willing to help promote Access Aware to businesses. If you would like to know more please contact Access Aware and submit an expression of interest.

Nominating accessible businesses

If you don't have time to be involved as an Ambassador perhaps you know a business with easy access?

Let us know if you are aware of a café or a bank with low counters or maybe a hardware store with disabled parking and easy access etc and we'll arrange to add the business that you propose to the Access Aware directory.

To suggest an accessible business please use the contact form or email and provide as much detail as you can about the business, including its name and address if known.
